Lighters can be used for many purposes. They can be used to start a fire, light a cigar, light a candle, toast the end of a cigar among many other uses. Many colibri lighters have features such as, an electronic ignition, torch flames and many other features.
How To Refill And Use A Colibri Lighter
Bring the lighter to an open and well ventilated area, away from flammable objects and away from heat. Let your lighter cool down for several minutes after the last use. After the lighter has cooled down, slide the flame adjustment at the bottom of the colibri lighter to minus. This will set the flame at its lowest position. You can do this by using a finger, a screwdriver, a thumbnail or screw adjusters. That is after determining whether your lighter requires to be pressed down or to be slid. Now press down or slide the fuel valve using a screwdriver and away from your face to remove any remaining fuel and air in the tank. Hold it down till the hissing sound stops.
Now turn the lighter upside down and press the filler valve to the nozzle of the butane filler bottle. Push down on the bottle of the lighter to fill the fuel tank. Hold it down for about 5 seconds. Remove the butane nozzle and turn the lighter upright. Replace the protective cap back on, on both the filler valve cover and the butane can. Hold your lighter in one hand for about 10 seconds or so to warm it. Wait for about 3 to 4 minutes before using the lighter. (Butane usually makes the lighter cold and the lighter may not work properly before warming up, the flame can be weak or has no flame at all). Light the lighter holding it away from your face and view and adjust the height of the flame to your desired height.
How To Repair Your Lighter
First check the level of the fuel in the lighter. Make sure it has fuel.Check the flint of your colibri butane lighter, that is, if your lighter is a flint strike model. Make sure the flint is contacting the striker device. Check whether there is air in the fuel tank. Too much air in the fuel tank may lead to weak flames or no flames at all.If so, press down on the butane valve and drain any remaining butane from the tank till the hissing stops and then proceed to refill the butane. Lastly, check the burner for any dirt, debris and particles which may affect the operation. A dirty burner can prevent fuel from entering the burner and getting ignited.
